Which Manual Stacker Works with Your Pallet? A Guide to Pallet Types and Stacker Selection
Choosing a manual hydraulic stacker may appear simple: confirm the load capacity, check the required lift height and select a model. In practice, however, one factor is often overlooked—the pallet itself.
The pallet’s dimensions, bottom structure and fork-entry openings determine whether a stacker can approach, lift and position the load correctly. A machine may have sufficient capacity but still be unsuitable if the forks do not align with the pallet openings or if the support legs are blocked by the pallet base.
That is why a practical selection process should begin with one principle:
Start with the pallet, then choose the stacker.

Why Pallet Design Comes First
Before comparing stacker models, look closely at how the pallet is built. Open-bottom pallets generally provide more clearance beneath the load, while closed-bottom pallets may prevent conventional support legs from moving into position. Standard pallets are often compatible with a fixed fork arrangement, whereas narrow, non-standard or mixed-size pallets may require adjustable fork spacing.
Fork access is only part of the issue. The stacker’s support legs must also move into the correct position around or beneath the pallet. In some applications, the forks can enter the pallet but the support legs cannot. A straddle design solves this problem by allowing the legs to travel around the outside of the pallet.
The main points to confirm are therefore the pallet width, fork-entry position, bottom structure, required fork spacing and available clearance for the support legs. Once these dimensions are clear, capacity and lift height can be considered with much greater confidence.

SYC Fixed Fork Stacker
The SYC manual hydraulic stacker uses a fixed-fork structure and is intended for applications where pallet dimensions remain relatively consistent. It is suitable for EU standard pallets, narrow pallets, skids, machinery and other loads with compatible fork-entry dimensions.
The machine is manually pushed and pulled, while lifting can be performed through the handle pump or foot pedal. A foot-operated brake assists with parking and positioning. With capacities from 500 to 1,500 kg and lift heights from 1,000 to 3,000 mm, the SYC series provides a straightforward option for regular pallet handling where fork adjustment is unnecessary.

SMS Adjustable Fork Stacker
When a warehouse or production area handles pallets and loads of different widths, the SMS manual hydraulic stacker offers greater flexibility through adjustable fork spacing. The operator can change the fork position to suit different compatible loads rather than relying on one fixed spacing.
The SMS series is designed for demanding warehouse and production use. Rounded fork tips make pallet entry easier, while the hydraulic system supports smooth lifting and controlled lowering. Depending on the model, the fork width can be adjusted from 330–590 mm or 330–740 mm. The range covers capacities from 500 to 2,000 kg and lift heights from 1,200 to 3,000 mm.
SMS-W Straddle Stacker
Adjustable forks do not solve every pallet-compatibility problem. If the pallet base blocks the support legs, a straddle configuration may be required.
The SMS-W manual hydraulic stacker positions its support legs around the outside of the pallet. This design allows the machine to work with both open- and closed-bottom pallets, provided the pallet dimensions match the stacker configuration. Adjustable forks add further flexibility for different load widths.
The SMS-W range is available with 1,000 kg and 1,500 kg capacities and maximum lift heights from 1,600 to 3,000 mm.
This series is especially useful when the forks can enter the pallet but conventional support legs cannot move beneath or alongside its base.


SFH-AG Adjustable Fork and Straddle Stacker
Some operations handle pallets or skids with varying widths as well as different base dimensions. In these situations, the SFH-AG manual hydraulic stacker provides additional adjustment by combining adjustable forks with adjustable straddle legs.
This configuration can be adapted more easily to different pallet and skid sizes. The SFH-AG is suitable for pallet stacking, load positioning and shelf replenishment. Its hydraulic pump includes overload protection, while the safety screen and wheel brake support safer everyday operation.
Metric models SFH1016AG, SFH1025AG and SFH1030AG have a rated capacity of 1,000 kg, with lift height options of 1,600, 2,500 and 3,000 mm.

The most adjustable model is not automatically the best choice. The goal is to select the simplest configuration that fits the pallet, supports the load and works safely within the available space.
Capacity, Lift Height and Everyday Operation
After confirming pallet compatibility, consider the load weight, load center and required lift height. Across the four series, SINOLIFT manual stackers cover capacities from approximately 500 to 2,000 kg and maximum lift heights of up to 3,000 mm, depending on the model.
Rated capacity should never be considered alone. The pallet dimensions, load size, fork length, fork spacing, working aisle and turning area all affect the final selection. A higher-capacity or higher-lift model may also have different operating dimensions, so the complete application should be reviewed before ordering.

If possible, also include a photo showing the pallet’s fork-entry openings and underside. The right question is therefore not only “How much can the stacker lift?” It is also “How does the stacker fit the pallet?”
