From Pallet to Production with the SINOLIFT CTD350-R720
The next roll is waiting beside the production line, but getting it ready for use can take more effort than expected. It needs to be moved off a pallet, brought closer to the machine, raised to the receiving position and turned to the correct orientation. In printing and packaging workshops, these small handling steps repeat throughout the day. When each step requires a different tool or additional manual effort, a routine material change can become an interruption to production.
Paper rolls, film rolls and textile rolls present a particular challenge. Their cylindrical shape makes them awkward to handle, and their outer surfaces may be vulnerable to damage during transfer. Operators need a way to hold the material securely while adjusting its height and orientation. The SINOLIFT CTD350-R720 Semi-electric Clamping Truck brings these tasks together, combining manual travel with electric lifting, hydraulic clamping and powered rotation.
The process begins at the pickup point. Whether a compatible roll is standing on the floor or resting on an accessible pallet, the operator guides the truck into position and aligns the clamp with the material. Manual travel allows the truck to be pushed between nearby work areas, while the auxiliary handle assists with the smaller adjustments needed during the final approach. For repeated transfers between local storage and a workstation, this gives the operator a straightforward way to bring the handling equipment to the load.
Once aligned, the circular hydraulic clamp closes around the outside of the roll. With a clamping diameter range of 300–720 mm, the CTD350-R720 accommodates a variety of suitably sized cylindrical materials. The clamp’s curved shape supports a secure grip and helps reduce slipping and surface damage during handling. This is particularly relevant for paper and film rolls whose outer layers need to remain in good condition for subsequent printing, wrapping or processing.
After securing the material, the operator uses the electric lifting system to raise it for transfer. At the destination, the same system brings the roll to the required working position, with a maximum clamp arm center height of 1,500 mm. Because this measurement refers to the arm center, it provides a useful reference when comparing the truck with the receiving equipment and the dimensions of the actual roll.
Reaching the right height is only part of the task. A roll stored upright may need to be presented differently at the next workstation. The CTD350-R720 offers 360° powered rotation and a 90° lockable tilt function, allowing its orientation to be adjusted as part of the handling sequence. Where the application is compatible, the operator can use the same truck to collect, move, raise and orient the material, reducing the need for separate repositioning steps.
Consider a film roll being prepared for a packaging operation. It starts at a nearby storage position, is gripped by the circular clamp and lifted for the short transfer to the machine. Once the truck reaches the loading area, the operator adjusts the roll’s height and orientation to suit the handover. The value lies in how these actions connect: the material remains supported by the handling equipment as it moves through the preparation process.
Behind that sequence is a structure designed for repeated workshop use. The C-channel mast supports the lifting assembly, while protective safety mesh provides a barrier around the mast area. An upgraded sealed oil cylinder and durable composite chain form part of the lifting mechanism, and a maintenance-free 12V/80Ah battery supplies the electric functions. These components support the truck’s everyday role without changing its straightforward manual-travel operation.
The same handling needs appear across paper processing, textile production, manufacturing workshops and warehouse operations. The details vary, but the objective remains consistent: bring a cylindrical load from its storage position to the next process with controlled lifting and positioning. For applications that suit its clamp range, lifting geometry and manual travel arrangement, the SINOLIFT CTD350-R720 offers a practical way to make that transition smoother.
